There are many different types of shower enclosures on the market ranging from the corner entry shower enclosure to self-contained enclosures. With so many to choose from, it can sometimes become a little overwhelming trying to figure out exactly which type is best for your particular needs. If you have a luxuriously sized bathroom, you can make your choice from many styles of corner baths but if your bathroom is small, your choices are a little more restrictive.
Many people these days are minimizing their actual living space and as such are moving into smaller apartments or houses. Very often, small apartments and houses have very small bathrooms. Sinks and toilets are often in close proximity to the shower area, and it can be awkward to maneuver in and out of the shower at times. This is where having the right type of doors on your shower enclosure can make all of the difference. Hinged or pivot doors are not very useful in small bathrooms and they can only end up adding to the frustrations that people often feel when trying to get around in tiny spaces.

Perhaps one of the most space saving shower enclosures is the corner entry enclosure. With this type of enclosure, the doors slide back from the corner of the shower on both sides. Not only does it mean that doors do not open outward into the bathroom but it also means that you can enter the shower enclosure from either side of the stall. This is really helpful if you have two people in the bathroom at the same time, or if there is a sink or toilet in close proximity to the shower enclosure on one side.
There are other space-saving shower doors, though all of the other types only permit entrance into the enclosure from one side of the stall. Still they are quite useful in small sized bathrooms. For example, you can add sliding doors to a shower though these are mainly used for longer rectangular sized showers. Quadrant shower doors also slide back however, that only provides entrance at the front of the shower. D-Shaped showers also have similar doors but again they basically only provide entrance from one angle.
The corner entry shower enclosure is the perfect choice when you have very limited space in your bathroom and when you want to be able to access your shower from either side. It is perhaps the enclosure that is best suited to tiny bathrooms when you still want to have an enclosed shower installed.
